The width and shape of the bracelet mean that any measurement for the watch head only is slightly misleading. The Oysterquartz is also reassuringly chunky, coming in at 13.5mm thick and feeling just as weighty as a modern automatic sports watch. The only negative about how the watch wears is the length of each bracelet link. But what is a chamfer? A chamfer is a beveled edge connecting two surfaces, something not easy to find and to appreciate on divers watch cases. The Sumo's case with its arched long lugs shows us a great example of "chamfering" especially considering the price point. This measurement has nothing to do with the distance between the lugs (also known as lug-width) – this will denote the width of the strap or bracelet that your watch requires. Instead the lug-to-lug measurement corresponds to the distance from the tip of one lug to the tip of its opposite equal. Some people might say the chamfers are not factory original but since it was done by Rolex, I consider it an authorised modification, and it harks back to vintage subs. Mine is actually a 14060m 4 liner. It was the last of the vintage style with lug holes, like a more modern version of the 5512. I got it about 12 years ago.

While we're at it, feel free to post pics displaying those lugs and chamfers!
You can see the lug holes are slightly angled and oval shaped which is a sure sign the case sides were previously polished. Also the bezel teeth and crown guards are kind of lacking definition which would not make sense on an unpolished watch. On a vintage Rolex check the outer edge of the lugs, if your watch has never been polished or polished lightly by a professional you may still be able to see them.
